Contents of an MSc literature survey
- Apart from the technical contents and correctness, and the
clarity of the exposition, it is very important that the
student shows that he has obtained an insight in the field
and that he is able to put various methods in perspective and
is thus able
- to cluster various methods into classes based on their
properties and characteristics, and
- to assess their strengths and weaknesses, their deficiencies
and when and under what conditions which method can be applied
best.
- In addition, at the end of the MSc report we also expect a more
detailed formulation of the main research question(s) as well
as a more detailed plan of approach and time schedule for the
next period.
