Abstract:
This short paper provides corrections and modifications to the urban
traffic flow model, called S-model, and the integrated flow and
emission model given in the paper "Integrated Urban Traffic Control
for the Reduction of Travel Delays and Emissions" (by S. Lin, B. De
Schutter, Y. Xi, and J. Hellendoorn, IEEE Trans. Intell. Transp.
Syst., vol. 14, pp. 1609-1619, 2013). These corrections involve
some formulas in that paper that have been derived either based on a
wrong reasoning or assumption, or that could be improved by the aid of
the proposed corrections and modifications to obtain a higher level of
accuracy in the simulations.
