Cybersecurity Hackathon
Hack a Wind Farm v1.0
On 18 June 2026, the DCSC Laboratory at TU Delft will host the first edition of the Hack a Wind Farm v1.0 hackathon, focused on Operational Technology (OT) cybersecurity in the wind energy sector.
During this hands-on event, participants will work with the Industrial Control System of a virtual offshore wind farm and explore cybersecurity challenges in a realistic energy systems environment. The programme includes guided hacking sessions, lunch, drinks, and networking opportunities.
No prior knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as IEC 61850 or OPC/UA is required. Basic Python knowledge is sufficient, making the event accessible to students who are curious about cybersecurity and energy systems. The event is supported by the EU Horizon projects TWAIN and SUDOCO.
